FRESNO, Calif. (AP) _ Darnell McCulloch and Davon Satterwhite each scored 17 points and Fresno State set a team record for 3-pointers in an 89-56 non-conference victory against Cal State Northridge on Wednesday night.

It was the third straight victory for Fresno State (11-11). Northridge (5-16) has dropped three in a row and lost six of its last seven.

Fresno State was devastating from long distance, making 16 3-pointers. That broke the team’s single-game record of 13 3-pointers set against Texas El-Paso last season.

The Bulldogs also set a school record for 3-point attempts with 34.

Ruben Oronoz led the Matadors with 13 points and Peter Micelli had 10.

Brandon Bakke, who made five of 10 3-pointers, tied the record with 7:34 left and then broke the mark two minutes later. Bakke finished with 15 points, all 3-pointers.

Fresno State made 11 of its 3-point field goals in the first half to take a 51-27 lead. McCulloch paced the Bulldogs with 13 points.

Northridge led twice in the opening minutes of the game. But the Bulldogs went ahead 8-5 on Satterwhite’s 3-pointer and never trailed.

Fresno State continued to cruise after halftime, going on a 13-0 run early in the second half.
