BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) — Boca Juniors and Carlos Tevez have sealed their reconciliation after the striker left for China a year ago.

Tevez said during his presentation on Tuesday he returned for a third stint at Boca to try and give it a seventh Copa Libertadores title.

In December 2016, Tevez left Boca for Shanghai Shenhua to become one of the highest paid footballers in the world.

But Shenhua terminated his contract this week a year early, after Tevez played only 20 games and scored only four times. Tevez was injured regularly and his professionalism was questioned. The club finished 11th in the Chinese Super League and was knocked out of Asian Champions League qualifying.

The 33-year-old Tevez has signed a two-year deal with Boca.

“I don’t regret anything, I knew the consequences when I left,” he said.

“I want to win the Copa Libertadores. I have little left in football and I have to enjoy it.”
