WORCESTER —The owner of Lifestream Healthcare Alliance — which had offices in Dracut and Worcester — was sentenced Friday to 18 months in jail for stealing $2.5 million from MassHealth, the state’s Medicaid program.

Former owner Hellen Kiago, 48, of Sturbridge, was represented by James Boumil of the S. James Boumil Law Firm in Lowell.

Kiago ran the home health agency, which provided nursing and home care visits to over 200 patients covered by MassHealth. She and her company were convicted May 14 on charges of Medicaid false claims and larceny after a 10-day trial in Worcester Superior Court.
