January 24, 2019

The James E. Van Zandt VA Medical Center, in coordination with Disabled American Veterans, is offering free rides for veterans in Cambria County.

Starting Monday transportation to the Johnstown Community Based Outpatient Clinic will be available Monday through Thursday. Rides are also available to veterans needing transportation to the medical center in Altoona.

A request for transportation must be made a minimum of three days in advance, and medical appointments should be scheduled between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., according to the center. Veterans must be able to get in and out of the vehicles unassisted.

For more information on eligibility or to schedule a ride, call the Johnstown clinic toll free at 877-626-2500, ext. 5075.
