James Blake, Chvrches among Hopscotch Music Fest headliners
James Blake, Sleater-Kinney and Chvrches are among this year’s Hopscotch Music Festival headliners, event officials announced Tuesday.
The festival, which is in its 10th year, is planned Sept. 5-7 in downtown Raleigh.
On Thursday, Sept. 5, Sleater-Kinney, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Snail Mail and The Nude Party will perform on the main stage at Raleigh City Plaza.
On Friday, Sept. 6, James Blake, Dirty Projectors and Faye Webster will headline the Red Hat Amphitheater stage, while Jenny Lewis, Purple Mountains and Tyler Ramsey will play the City Plaza stage.
Chvrches, Phantogram and !!! (chk chk chk) play the Red Hat Amphitheater stage on Saturday, Sept. 7, while Little Brother, Raphael Saadiq, Lute and Indigo De Souza with Icky Bricketts play City Plaza.
For its 10th year, the music festival is bringing back its earlier tradition of artist-curated bills. The festival has asked 10 North Carolina artists, including Little Brother, Sarah Shook & The Disarmers, Birds of Avalon, Nest Egg, Resonancy, No Love, Solar Halos, Museum Mouth, Crowmeat Bob and Gudiya, to curate bills throughout the weekend.
More artists will be announced this summer.
VIP and three-day passes go on sale to the general public on Thursday at 10 a.m. through the Hopscotch website and Etix. The tickets allow access to all Hopscotch club shows, City Plaza headlining shows and Red Hat Amphitheater shows.
Single show passes for all City Plaza and Red Hat shows, as well as one-day passes, will go on sale this summer.
