DAYTON, Ohio (AP) _ Kevin Johns threw for two touchdowns and ran for another as Dayton beat Valparaiso 34-13 for its 19th straight win Saturday.

Dayton (8-0, 4-0 Pioneer League) clinched at least a share of the league title by taking the lead late in the second half and pulling away. Johns’ 24-yard touchdown pass to Matt Moore on fourth down broke a 10-10 tie with 16 seconds left before halftime.

Dayton capitalized on turnovers for its first two scores. Nick Virostko returned a Paul Van Dam interception 42 yards, leading to a 22-yard field goal by Ryan Hulme.

On Valparaiso’s next possession, Ryan Rapaszky knocked the ball out of Van Dam’s hands and the Flyers recovered. Dayton scored on Johns’ 28-yard pass to Pat Hugar.

Valparaiso (3-5, 2-2) got a 70-yard run by Steve Clancy. Eric Strasser kicked field goals of 37 and 49 yards for Valparaiso.

Johns completed 11 of 30 passes for 150 yards and added a 25-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Van Dam completed 10 of 23 for 144.

Clancy picked up 141 yards on 10 carries for Valparaiso.
