Blakely Man Charged With DUI
DICKSON CITY — A Blakely man is facing charges of driving drunk with an alcohol level twice the legal limit.
Joseph Kohut, 27, 129 N. Main St., was pulled over for bad brake and tail lights about 6 p.m. March 19 on Viewmont Drive. Mr. Kohut is a staff writer for The Times-Tribune.
Mr. Kohut’s breath smelled of alcohol, and he showed other signs of intoxication, Dickson City Officer Michael Ranakoski said in charging papers filed Friday. He failed a field sobriety test, the officer said.
Blood alcohol content tests revealed a blood alcohol level of 0.16 percent, twice the legal limit of 0.08 percent.
Mr. Kohut was issued a summons Tuesday and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 9.
