Keuchel improved to 8-0 by limiting the Orioles to a run and four hits in his first start since being placed on the 10-day disabled list with a pinched nerve in his neck. George Springer hit a two-run homer as the Astros improved to a major league-best 34-16.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Baseball Hall of Famer and former Kentucky Congressman and Senator Jim Bunning has died at 85. The right-hander won 224 games in a 17-year career spent mostly with the Tigers and Phillies. He was the first pitcher in modern baseball history to throw a perfect game in the National League and toss no-hitters in each league, completing both feats against the New York Mets on Father’s Day 1964.
UNDATED (AP) — Two people with knowledge of the situation say the Washington Capitals and Toronto Maple Leafs will play an outdoor game at the Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, next season. The game is scheduled to be played March 3 at the 34,000-seat Navy-Marine Corps Memorial Stadium that hosts Navy football games. The matchup will be one of at least three outdoor NHL games next season.
