Mayo request leads to assault arrest

MILFORD — A request for extra mayo at an area market led to the arrest of a New York man on Sunday.

According to Milford Police, officers responded to Food Fare, 1063 East Broadway around 5:30 Sunday on the report of a breach of peace incident. An investigation led to the arrest of Patrick Kelly, 34, of New York. Kelly is accused of a smacking a store worker in the face after being refused an extra side of mayonnaise.

He was charged with second degree breach of peace, as well as possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. No details were given on the drug charges in the police report.

Kelly was released on a promise to appear in court Dec. 26.
