Be PAWSitive Bringing Dharma Doxie for Special Fitchburg Library Appearance

May 2, 2019

FITCHBURG -- Join TheraPAWS Therapy Pet Teams 10:30 a.m. to noon this Saturday, at Fitchburg Public Library, 610 Main St.

Therapy pets from Be PAWSitive will be available for children to read to and visit with. At 11 a.m., a special guest, Dharma Doxie a miniature dachshund will arrive.

She inspired her “mom,” Chell Sommese, a retired teacher from New Hampshire to write “The Adventures of Dharma Doxie.”

Dharma’s story, as told in the sing-along book, helped Chell continue to connect with children through song.

“We welcome children of all ages and their families to enjoy a special ‘Read to a Therapy Pet’ morning at Fitchburg Public Library,” said Be PAWSitive Director Sally Cragin. “Children who read aloud to a therapy pet improve comprehension and fluency.”
