AWS Foundation gifts $2 million to Arts United

The AWS Foundation today announced a $2 million gift to an Arts United campaign to make the city’s art campus : particularly the Arts United Center : more accessible and inclusive.

The donation supports a $40 million fundraising goal, officials said.

“This grant supports the transformation of Arts Campus Fort Wayne as a regional hub for community, inclusivity and accessibility,” said Doug Wood, Arts United board chair.

Construction is targeted to begin in 2023.

Planned upgrades address Arts United Center’s technology and physical needs, such as making it more accessible for people with mobility issues.

“What if there was an arts campus where anyone of any ability could come and participate in activities and events without limitation?” said Patti Hays, CEO of AWS Foundation. “AWS Foundation and Arts United are committed to making that soaring vision a reality.”
