Founded in 1959, the Bridgeport Hospital Auxiliary is a volunteer organization that supports the hospital’s mission of innovation and excellence in patient care, teaching, research and service to the community. Through fundraising events, the Auxiliary supports special projects and provides gifts to the Bridgeport Hospital community totaling over $8.5 million to date.
These funds have helped support the renovation of critical care units; Emergency Department renovations and expansion; renovation of the Connecticut Burn Center; the waiting room in the Ambulatory Surgery Center at Park Avenue Medical Center in Trumbull; maternity equipment; linear accelerator installation; and scholarships for nursing students and rehabilitation therapists. The Auxiliary also operates the Gift Shop in the hospital lobby and sponsors special social and community events that support the hospital.
