Authorities arrest 2 men in connection with Everett slaying
WOBURN, Mass. (AP) — Authorities say two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting in Everett.
Middlesex County District Attorney Marian Ryan says that 17-year-old Jose Vasquez Ardon, of Everett, and 17-year-old Cristian Nunez-Flores, also of Everett, were arrested Saturday.
Both men are facing one count each of murder.
Prosecutors say police responded just after midnight Jan. 3 to a report of an injured man on the Northern Strand Community Trail beneath the Tileson Street overpass.
Police found 19-year-old Omar Wilfredo Reyes, of Everett, suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.
Wilfredo Reyes was taken to the hospital where he died from his injuries Jan. 4.
Vasquez Ardon and Nunez-Flores are scheduled to be arraigned Monday in Malden District Court.
It’s unclear whether they’re represented by attorneys.
