3 killed in separate shooting within a mile in St. Louis

ST. LOUIS (AP) — Authorities say three people have been killed in separate shootings in a five-hour span in the same area of northwest St. Louis.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that the deaths happened in or on the edge of the Hamilton Heights neighborhood. The first victim was found around 5:15 p.m. Monday and rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police responded to a second shooting call around 6:45 p.m. and found a man in his 20s shot to death. Police say a third man was fatally shot shortly after 10 p.m.

Three other homicides have been linked to the neighborhood this year.

The latest shootings are under investigation. Police released no other details.
