LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police in Las Vegas are accusing a man of raping a Las Vegas woman within hours of his release from jail.

The Las Vegas Review-Journal (http://bit.ly/2nGvhfG ) reports 32-year-old Ramel Ortiz has been arrested on charges including sexual assault and kidnapping.

Police say evidence left at the scene of the March 9 incident included fluorescent orange boxer shorts labeled "CCDC," for Clark County Detention Center, and a pair of orange socks.

A police report shows his DNA was found on the boxers and the victim's bedsheet.

Police say Ortiz entered the woman's home, grabbed her at gunpoint, forced her into her daughter's room and raped her multiple times.

Police say the woman and her daughter, who arrived home after the assault, escaped by getting into the woman's car and driving away.
