DeKalb city’s online utility payment portal malfunctioning

DeKALB – The city is experiencing issues with its online utility payment portal, according to a Friday news release from city manager.

The release said the city received a high volume of calls from customers having trouble accessing their online utility payment account Friday. The city is also warning that customers might get a message indicating their password is no longer valid.

The city is working with its online payment portal vendor to address the issue, and in the meantime is directing customers to follow the first-time user instructions on the website to be able to access the payment portal.

City officials are assuring customers that no late fees will be applied to any accounts until the city is certain the issue has been resolved.

Residents are reminded that the DeKalb Municipal Building, 200 S. Fourth St., is closed on Dec. 24 and 25, and will re-open Dec. 26.
