Raleigh man charged with shooting into car in Hillsborough with infant inside
A Raleigh man was arrested Tuesday in connection with an incident last month in Hillsborough in which shots were fired into a car with an infant inside, police said.
Elijah Rashad Dobson, 24, of 8621 Neuse Club Lane,, was apprehended in Burlington by members of a U.S. Marshals Service fugitive task force.
He was charged with attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury, discharge of a weapon into occupied property inflicting serious injury and possession of a firearm by a felon. He was being held in the Orange County jail under $1 million bond.
Officers responded to South Churton Street near Cardinal Drive on April 16 and found a person with multiple gunshot wounds inside a vehicle.
The shooting victim, who hasn’t been identified, remains hospitalized, recovering from his wounds.
Police said a baby inside the vehicle wasn’t hurt and was taken to her mother.
