Officials: 2 killed in crash near Offutt Air Force Base
BELLEVUE, Neb. (AP) — Eastern Nebraska officials say two men are dead following a crash near Bellevue.
The Sarpy County Sheriff’s office says in a news release that the crash happened around 10:40 a.m. Tuesday on Highway 34 south of Offutt Air Force Base. Officials say the crash occurred when a westbound car lost control, crossed the median and collided with a semitrailer.
Officials say the driver and a passenger in the car died. Another person in the car was injured, as was the driver of the semi.
The names of those involved had not been released by late afternoon Tuesday.
The crash closed a stretch of the highway in both directions for several hours.
