Home is where the shovels are

May 5, 2019

The house will be the fourth of six planned Habitat homes in that area of the city for Dixon Habitat for Humanity, which is part of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian organization dedicated to eliminating substandard housing and homelessness and putting faith into action by making home ownership a reality.

The organization turns the dream of owning real estate into reality with donations and dedication. Habitat homeowners also are part of the process. They pay an affordable mortgage, receive financial education and lend a hand to build their homes. Go to www.habitat.org/us-il/dixon/dixon-hfh-il or call 815-288-4957 for information on the local chapter. To donate, make checks out to HFH and mail them to Habitat for Humanity, P.O. Box 11, Dixon, IL 61021.
