Diana Shipping: 2Q Earnings Snapshot
ATHENS, Greece (AP) _ Diana Shipping inc. (DSX) on Tuesday reported a second-quarter loss of $1.3 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
On a per-share basis, the Athens, Greece-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents. Earnings, adjusted for asset impairment costs and non-recurring costs, were 2 cents per share.
The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of four analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 3 cents per share.
The shipping company posted revenue of $55.4 million in the period. Its adjusted revenue was $52.4 million, which also did not meet Street forecasts. Four analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $53.7 million.
The company’s shares closed at $3.65. A year ago, they were trading at $4.48.
