Panthers Sign Gillis Wilson
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) _ The Carolina Panthers on Tuesday signed defensive end Gillis Wilson and placed John Milem on injured reserve.
The Panthers also added receiver Anthony Bright, who had been with the team during training camp, to their practice squad and waived linebacker Jeff Posey.
Willis, a fifth round draft choice of the Panthers in 2000, was waived in training camp and had been on the New York Giants’ practice squad.
Milem, a defensive end from Lenoir Rhyne, played two games after being claimed on waivers from San Francisco. He tore ligaments in his knee against the 49ers on Sunday and is out for the rest of the season.
Posey, who was signed in October, played on special teams and saw brief action on defense.
