Chamber hosting ‘Fund Raising in the Fast Lane’ workshop for nonprofits
The Somerset County Chamber of Commerce is hosting “Fund Raising in the Fast Lane” Dec. 11, at ServPro of Somerset County and Westmont. The workshop is sponsored by Jennerstown Speedway Complex LLC and Somerset Trust Co.
“Fund Raising in the Fast Lane” will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. in the conference room at ServPro of Somerset County and Westmont. Registration will begin at 5:30 p.m.
As a lifelong marketing and public relations consultant in professional auto racing, presenter Mike Lysakowski will share his experiences in corporate sponsorship transactions. In addition to successfully landing sponsorship contracts at all levels, Lysakowski has also served as the distributor and administrator of corporate donations. His advice and best practices come from “both sides of the fence” in sponsorship sales.
At this workshop, participants will learn how to use the same strategies NASCAR teams utilize when landing multi-million-dollar corporate sponsorships to net their own benefactors for church carnivals, youth soccer teams and other community-related projects and events. Key takeaways include:
What a “sponsorship” should truly consist of and accomplish;
How to create a proposal that gets the attention of a major corporation or a small business;
What marketing professionals and corporate donors are seeking from a sponsorship;
How to “activate” and execute a sponsorship at an event; and
How donors view your role as a recipient of a sponsorship.
Nonprofit staff, partners, community volunteers and anyone who participates in fundraising activities can benefit from this informative and lively session and will learn from Lysakowski’s real-life examples of landing sponsorships.
“After this workshop was presented in 2017, the Chamber was quick to invite Lysakowski back by popular demand, to offer this second chance for people involved in the community to benefit from this information,” said Ron Aldom, executive director, Somerset County Chamber of Commerce.
Admission is charged per person and pre-registration is required by Friday. Space is limited.
