Henry, Steele lead Red Bulls past Dynamo in MLS
HOUSTON (AP) — Thierry Henry put New York ahead in the 47th minute and Jonathan Steele scored one goal and set up another as the Red Bulls beat the Houston Dynamo 4-1 in Major League Soccer on Sunday.
Eric Alexander, Jonathan Steele and Lloyd Sam also scored for New York as the Red Bulls found the net three times in the second half.
Jason Johnson scored for Houston.
Montreal’s Patrice Bernier kicked two penalties in the first half and Marco DiVaio also had a double to lead the Impact over the New England Revolution 4-2.
The Impact played a man down for most of the match after goalkeeper Matt Reis was shown a red card for pulling down DiVaio while attempting to retrieve a loose ball in the box.
Diego Fagundez and Kelyn Rowe scored for New England.
Chivas USA’s Erick Torres scored his seventh goal of the season in a 1-0 win over D.C. United, while Shea Salinas scored the lone goal for San Joe in the 15th minute to lead the Earthquakes over the Philadelphia Union 1-0.
