DeKalb seeks feedback on website revamp

October 6, 2018

DeKALB – The city will host several community forums in the coming weeks to gather feedback on potential changes to its website.

In 2019, the website will undergo a scheduled refresh as part of the city’s existing contract with Civic Plus, the site host. The forums are to gauge user feedback to best overhaul the site.

In addition to the public forums, the city will launch a survey, available soon on its website, asking about overall functionality of the website and accessibility of information.

To encourage as much resident participation as possible, the forums will be hosted in October and November with varying times, dates and locations.

“We’re hoping for open discussion,” said Jason Blumenthal, management intern with the city. Forums will begin with a five- to 10-minute briefing about the project and then remain open to encourage conversation and suggestions.

Four meetings are planned:

• 6:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the DeKalb Municipal Building, 200 S. Fourth St.

• 10 a.m. Oct. 29 at the DeKalb Municipal Building, 200 S. Fourth St.

• 6:30 p.m. Nov. 8 at Hopkins Park,

1403 Sycamore Road

• 6:30 p.m. Nov. 14 at the DeKalb Public Library, 309 Oak St.
