FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) _ Lisa Narkiewicz scored 12 points and teammate Jasai Ferrucho scored on a driving layup and made a steal in the closing minutes to lead No. 20 Colorado State to a 58-54 victory over New Mexico on Saturday.

The victory gave Colorado State the Mountain West Conference title and the top seed in the conference tournament.

Angie Gorton added 11 points for Colorado State (23-5, 12-2).

Lindsey Arndt scored 10 of her 12 points in the first half for New Mexico (21-7, 10-4), which failed to score in the final 1:39.

New Mexico, which had 19 turnovers, shot 37 percent from the field.

Arndt scored her only basket of the second half with 1:39 left, helping New Mexico close within 56-54.

Ferrucho scored on an uncontested layup with 1:16 remaining and seconds later stole a pass intended for Jordan Adams.

Colorado State led by 10 points, 48-38, with 7:07 remaining after two free throws by Narkiewicz.

Melissa Forest’s 3-pointer pulled New Mexico within 53-50 with 3:45 left. Gorton scored the next three points for CSU before New Mexico received a pair of free throws from Molly McKinnon and a basket by Arndt.

Ferrucho’s layup and steal sealed the victory.

New Mexico held Colorado State scoreless for more than 5 minutes in the first half. Led by 10 points by Arndt, the Lobos led 24-22 at halftime.
