Multiple bodies found in building with high levels of carbon monoxide
A Santa Fe County sheriff’s spokesman said Tuesday night that more than one body was discovered in a northern Santa Fe County building where first responders encountered “high levels of carbon monoxide emanating from the structure.”
The spokesman, Juan Ríos, said deputies called to the scene late Tuesday afternoon were not able to immediately enter the building in the Santa Cruz area until the toxic gas was cleared.
Ríos said he did not have additional details about what he described as an ongoing “death investigation.”
While he did not know exactly how many bodies were in the building, “there were deceased,” Ríos said.
