Donley King Jr.
Donley Alfred King Jr., 85, of Bourbonnais, passed from this life into eternity Friday (Nov. 16, 2018).
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edna and the Rev. Donley Alfred King Sr.; his younger brother, Duane; one grandson, Brandon Popenhagen; and one great-granddaughter, Penelope Popenhagen.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Carol Ann (Walters) King; one sister, Louise; two brothers, Stanley and Hubert; six children, Donley L. (Pam), Ronald (Kristin), Dawn Renee (Jeff), Denise (Bill), Darrin (Lori) and DeAnn; 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He served in the U.S. Army and was stationed in Washington D.C., where he met his wife, Carol. He retired from the United States Postal Service in 2001.
A longtime member of College Church of the Nazarene, Donley served in a number of capacities. He enjoyed playing basketball and softball. Summer vacations were spent loading up the car with six kids and the camping gear and setting out to see America.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, Nov. 19, at Clancy-Gernon Funeral Home in Bourbonnais.
