Kraft charged in Florida...Alualu stays with Steelers... Dodgers shut down ace

JUPITER, Fla. (AP) — Police in Florida have charged New England Patriots owner Robert Kraft with misdemeanor solicitation of prostitution, saying they have videotape of him paying for a sex act inside an illicit massage parlor. Jupiter police say the 77-year-old Kraft hasn’t been arrested. A warrant will be issued and his attorneys will be notified. A spokesperson for Kraft says they “categorically deny that Mr. Kraft engaged in any illegal activity.”

PITTSBURGH (AP) — Tyson Alualu is sticking with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The Steelers re-signed the defensive lineman to a two-year contract that will run through the 2020 season. The 31-year-old Alualu has 61 tackles, with four sacks, in 31 games for the Steelers after signing with the team as a free agent in 2017. The veteran has started seven games for Pittsburgh, providing the defensive line with depth behind Cam Heyward, Stephon Tuitt and Javon Hargrave.

GLENDALE, Ariz. (AP) — Clayton Kershaw has been shut down indefinitely because manager Dave Roberts says the Los Angeles Dodgers ace “didn’t feel right” after two discouraging outings on the mound. Kershaw worked out indoors at Camelback Ranch, but didn’t play catch. Roberts wouldn’t speculate on the left-hander’s next bullpen session.

UNDATED (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations says versatile Marwin Gonzalez and the Minnesota Twins have agreed to a $21 million, two-year contract. Gonzalez would receive $12 million this year and $9 million in 2020 under the contract. An infielder and outfielder, who turns 30 next month, Gonzalez spent the last seven seasons with the Houston Astros. He hit .247 with 16 homers and 68 RBIs last year,

BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) —The Washington Capitals upgraded their blue line today by acquiring defenseman Nick Jensen from the Detroit Red Wings. Washington sent a 2020 second-round pick and defenseman Madison Bowey to Detroit for Jensen and a 2019 fifth-round pick. The 28-year-old Jensen is a late-blooming right-handed shooter who has two goals and 13 assists for 15 points through 60 games. He can become an unrestricted free agent this summer.
