Pets of the Week: Brutus and Sarge

March 31, 2019

Brutus and Sarge are just two of the pets available for adoption at the Darlington County Animal Shelter operated by the Darlington County Humane Society.

Brutus is a solid-framed fellow who nicely ambles along, totally unflappable. He’s extremely tolerant of other dogs and would be a good choice for a family with kids who are looking for their new best friend. Brutus is a hound mix, 2 to 3 years old, and weighs 66 pounds.

Sarge is turning heads with handsome looks, his piercing blue eyes, tall erect ears and eager, broad grin. Sarge loves being with people and other dogs and enjoys being part of the action. He would love going for trail hikes or simply having a space where he can run and play and burn off a little bit of extra energy. He is a 2- to 3-year-old shepherd mix and weighs 45 pounds.

The shelter is at 1701 Animal Control Blvd. off Highway 151, approximately one mile west of the Darlington Raceway. Shelter hours are noon to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday; noon to 7 p.m. Thursday; and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. Closed Wednesday and Sunday.
