ARLINGTON, Va. (AP) _ Even though most of the focus is on missing children, the percentage of missing adults is increasing, USA Today reported.

The paper said in today's editions that the FBI's annual Missing Persons Report compiled each Feb. 1 shows adult cases have risen from 32 percent in 1995 to 39 percent this year, when 38,209 of the 97,376 cases of missing people involve people 18 or older.

It noted that, as with children, the majority of missing adults eventually are found safely. The paper said experts estimate that only about 1 percent of all those who vanish are never located.
