KATHY LYNN COLE HARPER
KATHY LYNN COLE HARPER, 59, longtime resident of Gainesville, Fla., lost her battle with cancer Thursday, January 24, 2019. Born April 17, 1959, in Huntington, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Lindsey Cole Jr. and Georgia Marie Powell Cole. Kathy retired after 32 years of service from the VA Medical Center as Assistant Chief of Prosthetics. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her husband traveling, watching grandsons play baseball, the Florida Gators and making memories with her family. She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment. She especially loved her role as Mama. Kathy will forever be remembered by her husband of 40 years, Ronald Ray Harper; her three daughters, Lindsay Jarrett (Bryan) of Daytona Beach, Fla., Rhonda Harper of Gainesville, Fla., and Lori Barber (Justin) of Newberry, Fla.; her six grandchildren, Joshua, Cameron, J.J., Zoe, Jordan and Jackson. She was preceded in death by her sister, Linda Vance, and her brother, Larry Cole. She leaves behind siblings, Roger Cole (Edna) of Proctorville, Ohio, Patty Smith of Lavalette, W.Va., and Tammy Lewis of Gainesville, Fla., and best friend, Judy Smith.
