CAMBRIDGE -- Gordon Kottwitz, 90, died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at the London Lodge in Cambridge.
He was born on Oct. 22, 1927, the son of the late Herman and Norma (Schmidt) Kottwitz. He was a 1945 graduate of the Lake Mills High School.
Gordon married the former Alta Emerson on June 12, 1949. He had been a lifelong town of Milford farmer.
Gordon enjoyed sports, traveling, playing cards, snowmobiling in his younger years and visiting casinos.
He was well read and informed. He was opinionated and loved being social. He was known for saying what he meant and meaning what he said.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Alta; their two daughters, Diane (James) Franks, Patti Dehnert; grandchildren, Damion (Laura) Dehnert, Derek Franks, Pamela (Joel) Schmitt, Christina (Zach) Pulliam, Suzanne (Riley Nowicki) Kottwitz; great-grandchildren, Adelina and Helena Schmitt, Jackson and Peyton Dehnert, Blythe and Hazel Pulliam; one brother, Maurice Kottwitz; other relatives and friends.
He was also preceded in death by a son, David Kottwitz, and a sister, Marlene Scheel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Lake Mills Moravian Church. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday at the Lake Mills Moravian Church and also after 10 a.m. on Monday at the church until the time of services. Burial will be in Rock Lake Cemetery.
If desired, memorials would be appreciated to the Lake Mills Moravian Church or Rainbow Hospice Inc.
