Beaver Dam Police Beat: Oct 5-7, 2018
Accident — Police responded to an accident between two vehicles in the intersection of Frances Lane and Gateway Drive at 10:23 a.m. on Friday.
Hit-and-run — Police received a report of a hit-and-run leaving a long scratch on a man’s vehicle in the 600 block of North Spring Street at 3:14 p.m. on Friday.
Accident — Police responded to an accident between two vehicles in a parking lot in the 2000 block of North Spring Street at 7:41 p.m. on Friday.
Noise complaint — Police received a report of loud music coming from the Family Center, 609 Gould St., at 8:24 p.m. on Friday. An officer determined the complaint to be unfounded.
Burglary investigation — Officers assisted Dodge County in a burglary investigation on Iron Road at 9 p.m. on Friday.
Accident — Police responded to a driver striking a parked vehicle in the 300 block of East South Street at 10:50 p.m. on Friday.
Noise complaint — Police responded to a woman hearing loud music and voices in the 200 block of Bogert Street at midnight on Saturday. Four people were cited for underage alcohol consumption.
Disorderly conduct — Police responded to an incident where a woman locked a man out of a residence in the 500 block of North Spring Street at 12:58 a.m. on Saturday. The man was intoxicated and had gone outside to smoke. He was pounding on the door to try and get the woman to let him back in. An officer gave the man a ride to another woman’s house for the night.
Fraud — A woman in the 800 block of Fairfield Drive reported a handyman whom she had hired to do work had forged a check of hers at 10 a.m. on Saturday.
Disorderly conduct — Police received a report of people at Smythe Park with loud mufflers spinning and burning up tires at 10:41 p.m. on Saturday. Officers who checked the area did not locate anything.
Noise complaint — A woman reported her upstairs neighbors were playing music and intentionally banging on the floor in the 1000 block of North Spring Street at 1:26 a.m. on Sunday. Police were unable to make contact.
Intoxicated person — Police responded to a report of a man who was intoxicated while on a no-alcohol order in the 1000 block of West Burnett Street at 7:48 a.m. on Sunday. Police made contact with four men. One had his probation officer notified. Two were given a ride to a different residence. They are all counseled on disorderly conduct and domestic incident laws. Later, a man called 911 to report that another man was sending him texts about the incident. He was advised to stop doing so or he could be cited.
Domestic issue — Police responded to a report of a verbal issue between a man and a woman in the 600 block of North University Avenue at 4:17 p.m. on Sunday. The man left the residence.
Hit-and-run — A woman reported that her vehicle was struck on Saturday while in a parking lot in the 600 block of Park Avenue at 4:37 p.m. on Sunday. The suspect vehicle in a dark-colored Chevy S10 or Colorado truck with a white topper.
Noise complaint — Police received a report that a woman was playing loud music in the 300 block of Rosendale Street at 4:49 p.m. on Sunday.
Suspicious behavior — A caller reported a man in a brown jacket, black pants and white/orange shoes was in their backyard in the 100 block of Roedl Court at 5:56 p.m. on Sunday. The caller said the man left when confronted. The man left a wig behind. Police collected the wig.
Vehicle theft — A man reported his 2010 silver Chevy Traverse was stolen in the 100 block of East Davis Street at 5:59 p.m. on Saturday. Police believe the theft might be related to the backyard wig incident.
Disorderly conduct — Police received a report of a man and woman yelling in the 100 block of Prairie View Drive at 6:28 p.m. on Sunday. There was nothing physical.
Domestic incident — A woman reported a man struck her in the stomach in the 300 block of North Lincoln Avenue at 6:39 p.m. on Sunday. He left before an officer arrived.
