Pedestrian hit by vehicle that fled in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT — A man struck by a vehicle on Lorraine Drive on Friday was taken from the site of the collision by ambulance after personnel performed CPR on the victim.
Just after 5 p.m., police and fire units were sent to the 100 block of Lorraine Street in the city for a reported pedestrian hit by a vehicle that fled immediately after the collision.
At least one vehicle parked on the side of Lorraine Street had back-end damage on one side from the incident.
A woman who lives at 160 Lorraine Street said she didn’t realize the first responders were on her street because the man had been hit by a car.
“He’s been walking up and down the street all day,” the woman said.
When asked if she knew the age of the victim, she said, “he’s an older guy.”
There was no immediate word on the condition of the victim.
