Bulls announcer Derrek Dickey hospitalized after stroke

CHICAGO (AP) _ Chicago Bulls radio announcer Derrek Dickey was in critical but stable condition Thursday night after having a stroke, a hospital administrator said.

Dickey, in his second season as an analyst for Bulls games on WMVP-AM, went to Northwestern Memorial Hospital after having a stroke Wednesday, the Bulls said.

Dickey, who played in the NBA from 1973-78, was the Sacramento Kings’ television analyst for three seasons and an analyst for University of Cincinnati games for seven years before joining the Bulls.
