NEW YORK (AP) — Two men arrested in Romania in a drug probe aimed at cutting off potential terrorism funds have been brought to New York for trial.

Siavosh Henareh and Cetin Aksu pleaded not guilty Thursday in their first appearances before a federal judge in Manhattan. Both were arrested in Bucharest, Romania, on July 25.

Henareh, a 57-year-old Iranian citizen, was charged with conspiracy to distribute heroin. Aksu, a 49-year-old citizen of Turkey, was charged with drug conspiracy and conspiracy to provide material support to a foreign terrorist organization. Authorities say he sought to acquire anti-aircraft missiles to deliver to Hezbollah.

Both men were held without bail. If convicted, they face the potential of life in prison.
