Police: 2 killed in shooting at Virginia hookah lounge
STERLING, Va. (AP) — Police have arrested a northern Virginia man who they say shot and killed two people at a strip-mall hookah lounge.
The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office said Monday it has arrested 34-year-old Hassan Gailani of Alexandria and charged him with two counts of first-degree murder.
The sheriff’s office said it was called to the Pharaoh Cafe in Sterling shortly before 2 a.m. Monday. The two victims were declared dead at the scene.
Deputies arrested Gailani in his car as he attempted to leave the scene. He is being held at the county jail.
Sheriff Mike Chapman told reporters that Gailani appeared to know the victims and that he went to the hookah lounge to target them.
