Russia, Ethiopia Strike Arms Deal
MOSCOW (AP) _ Russia will sell used fighter jets, combat helicopters and other military hardware to Ethiopia, a news agency reported today.
The $150 million package includes four Su-27 fighter jets and several Mi-24 and Mi-8 combat helicopters, the Interfax news agency quoted military officials as saying.
Russia also will provide Ethiopia, a close ally of the former Soviet Union, with ammunition, communications and navigation equipment, the agency said.
The aircraft and other arms will be delivered later this month, the Interfax said.
