Hit and run driver strikes fire hydrant in Nampa

September 3, 2018

NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Police say roads in the area of a central Nampa intersection were a “muddy mess” after a driver struck a fire hydrant nearby.

Idaho Press reports that police on Monday found the person they believe crashed into the fire hydrant in the area of 12th Street and Sheridan Avenue.

Nampa police didn’t identify the driver, but said the person was charged with inattentive driving, leaving the scene of an accident and driving without privileges.

Police warned that the roads in the area were slick, due to the excess water.

The city’s street department helped to clean up the area.
