hot property One-of-a-kind Stamford contemporary on 4.9 lush acres

August 6, 2018

Custom built by the original owner 26 years ago, this one-of-a-kind contemporary Stamford home is located near the New Canaan line and sits on 4.9 acres of private beautifully landscaped land.

Surrounded by nature, 500 Woodbine Road has everything a family would want, according to co-listing agent Patti Fieber.

“This house is breathtaking inside and out,” said Fieber, who is with Halstead Connecticut. “Inside, there are three levels of magnificent living and outside you have a beautiful bridge that goes over the pond on the property. And a waterfall is on the side of the property coming in. It all looks very natural.”

With 17 rooms, the home has a lower level, a first floor and a second floor.

To the right of the foyer on the main level is a “beautiful dining room with huge glass windows that overlook the property and the pond,” Fieber said.

The dining room has built-in mahogany cabinets with a crystal display light and wood floors. Step down from the dining room and enter the magnificently laid out living room, Fieber said.

The living room also has views of the pond through mahogany framed windows. It also has mahogany ceiling beams and two built-in display cabinets that flank the granite fireplace. There are two fireplaces in the home with the other one being in the family room. The family room, Fieber noted, has a built-in maple wall system which conceals the television and audio-visual components. That room also features a contemporary mantle with granite surround.

Then, Fieber said, is the stand-out kitchen.

The kitchen, she said, has a double Dacor ovens, a dishwasher and a trash compactor. It also has a SubZero refrigerator and freezer, a ceramic electric cooktop and griddle and there is a butler’s pantry that flows from the kitchen to the dining room.

The first level also has two nice-sized bedrooms, one with French doors. There are also two first floor powder rooms.

The second level includes the master suite.

“What is really cool with the master is there is a private back staircase from the first floor to the upper level that leads you to the master suite,” Fieber said. The master bathroom features separate his-and-her toilet rooms and separate water closets.

The 1,760-square-foot lower level has a mini-kitchen that can seat four with a microwave, a sink and a refrigerator. The center island is set up with stools. There is also a large television/entertainment area. The lower level also comes complete with an office with built-ins and an additional room where someone can sleep. And, it has a cedar closet and easy access to the outside Gunite pool.

In addition to the pool, there is also a tennis court on the property. The court was renovated and resurfaced in 2017. The house also has a four-car garage and generator.
