GORHAM, N.H. (AP) — New Hampshire officials are looking for volunteers to pluck lowly weeds atop the highest peak in the Northeast.

The New Hampshire Natural Heritage Bureau and the division of state parks need help removing invasive dandelions from areas around the summit of Mount Washington.

Two outings are planned for this Friday and next. Volunteers will be taken to the summit in state vehicles, and will spend several hours removing the plants.

Participants are warned to dress for the weather, including wearing layers and proper footwear. They also have to bring work gloves, water and food.
