Council race gets tighter

November 20, 2018

SAN BERNARDINO — A Nov. 19 update of vote counts in the Nov. 6 general election provided by the county registrar of voters showed the race for Needles City Council down to one vote between Zachery Longacre and Louise Evans.

Current Mayor Edward T. Paget M.D. continued to lead the field with 661 votes. Timothy Terral, in his second attempt at gaining a seat, was credited with 484. Incumbent Councilor Louise Evans received 465 votes.

Challengers Longacre and Barbara L. Beard, both in their first council race, received 464 and 420 votes respectively.

Current Vice Mayor Jeff Williams, running unopposed for mayor, received 719 votes.

The next update is scheduled for approximately 4 p.m. PST Tuesday, Nov. 20.
