Man critical after Drexel stabbing
A man was listed in critical condition late Saturday following an apparent stabbing.
According to a Fort Wayne police report, officers were called to the 2800 block of Drexel Avenue at 10:24 p.m. in response to a battery. At the scene, a male victim was found unresponsive, lying in the middle of Drexel Avenue with 2 apparent stab wounds to his left chest and left shoulder.
The victim was transported to a hospital by paramedics in serious condition, but the victim was later downgraded to critical.
Preliminary evidence showed there had been a disturbance between several people before the stabbing. Detectives remained on the scene to interview potential witnesses in the hope of obtaining suspect information, according to the report.
The incident is being investigated by Fort Wayne police and the Allen County prosecutor’s office.
