West Shore Community College hires firm to conduct student housing study
CUSTER — The West Shore Community College Board of Trustees approved a contract with the firm Scion Group to conduct a study to examine the feasibility of creating student housing on the WSCC campus.
During the board’s off-campus meeting Monday evening at Mason County Eastern Schools library in Custer, the college agreed to pay Scion Group $59,500 for its study, which is expected to begin in late November, with an anticipated completion date of March 15.
“We’ve talked about this for some time,” said James Jensen, trustee and treasurer of the board. “(Housing) could be a substantial expenditure, and I believe it behooves us to get the input that we could gather from an expert.”
