County planners to weigh Kingman assisted living home Wednesday

January 10, 2019

KINGMAN — There is only one item on Wednesday’s county planning and zoning commission agenda.

Meeting for the first time in 2019, commissioners will discuss a permit for a 5-acre parcel north of Cactus Wren Drive and east of Bull Mountain Road for an assisted living home for up to 10 residents in Kingman.

The commission also will elect a new vice chairman. At the December meeting, District 3 Commissioner Mychal Gorden was elected as commission chair.

The 10-person commission consists of two members from each supervisor district. Melanie Bruehl and Dale Kelley represent District 2 and Larry Morse represents District 5. Former District 5 Commissioner Mehdi Azarmi stepped down in December. There is also one vacancy from District 1. The commission meets the second Wednesday of each month.

The planning and zoning issues will go before the county supervisors for approval at their Feb. 4 meeting. The commission meeting starts at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the board of supervisors auditorium at the county administration building, 700 W Beale St. in Kingman.
