GIRLS SOCCER: Havasu can’t crack No. 2 Arcadia, loses in first round of 4A playoffs

February 10, 2019

The first foray into the 4A playoffs didn’t go as planned for the Lake Havasu girls soccer team, falling at No. 2 Phoenix Arcadia on Saturday afternoon.

The Titans, who had only given up two goals since December, earned their 10th shutout of the season in the win.

Havasu was able to keep the game close through half, trailing just 1-0 after 40 minutes, but couldn’t hold on forever, giving up a pair of goals in the second half, the last with 17 minutes to play.

Arcadia advances to play No. 7 Tucson Sahuaro on Wednesday. The Cougars beat Walden Grove 1-0 on Saturday to make the quarterfinals. All eight home teams won in the first round, setting up a tough second round.
