2 injured in separate overnight shootings in Bridgeport
BRIDGEPORT — Two people were wounded overnight Friday into Saturday in two separate shootings in the city, according to police.
The first shooting happened around 11 p.m. Friday, according to police spokesman Terron Jones.
Jones said a gunshot wound victim turned up at Bridgeport Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police learned that the shooting took place in the 100 block of Lenox Avenue.
Hours later, another person was shot.
At 2:38 a.m. Saturday, police received a ShotSpotter activation on Seymour Street between Kossuth Street and East Main Street. Jones said officers responded and found a victim with a gunshot wound to the leg. He said officers canvassed the area for a potential suspect. The shooter was not found.
There was no further information about either shooting provided. Jones said the Detective Bureau continues to investigate both incidents.
