Suspect Awaiting Arraignment In Grisly W-B Murder
Authorities are planning to arraign a suspect in last week’s grisly murder of a Wilkes-Barre man.
The suspect, who was not immediately named, is slated to be arraigned Friday evening by Magisterial District Judge Donald Whittaker in Nanticoke.
Police found the victim, Fred J. Boote, 58, stabbed to death in his house at 14 Donald Court around 4 a.m. Friday, Sept. 14.
Investigators were led to the murder scene after his dog was observed running loose along Carey Avenue in Wilkes-Barre.
Investigators said Boote had been stabbed in the back, and the scene suggested signs of a struggle, with indications the killer tried to set fire to the home before fleeing.
An autopsy determined Boote died of multiple stab wounds.
