JEFFERSON — Jefferson took Thursday’s 7-0 Rock Valley girls tennis dual sweep over visiting Edgerton without dropping a set.

Laura Traver took a 6-1, 6-2 win over Kylee House at No. 4 singles while Eryn Warner grabbed a 6-3, 6-1 victory over Cameron Gould at No. 3 singles. In No. 2 singles, Anna Kallsen won, 6-0, 6-1, against Johanna Rusch while Morgan Graf breezed past Kelsey Linn, 6-1, 6-1, in her No. 1 singles win.

“Morgan is 5-0 in conference and hasn’t really been tested this year,” Jefferson coach Steve Rogers said.

In doubles play, the No. 3 tandem of Freedom Vernon and Meghan Magner claimed a 6-4, 6-2 win over Isabella Gilmour and Karlye Smrecek while Jenna Dinkel and Lizzie Meyers prevailed, 6-0, 6-0, over Elizabeth Oetzel and Jordan Bauer at No. 2. At No. 1 doubles, Karyn Duddeck and Shampaine Wilson battled back late for a 6-1, 7-5 win over Taylor Shaw and Maddie Laskowski.

“They were down 5-0 in the second set and came back and won it,” Rogers said.
