Winter Camps Provide Fun for Kids on Break
It’s time to forget about math equations and essay questions — it’s winter break! Before your child jumps into their favorite pajamas and snoozes on the couch, sign them up for a Winter Camp program with Broomfield Recreation and Senior Services. Each day will be filled with exciting activities and adventure-packed day trips.
The Broomfield Recreation and Senior Services Department offers a variety of Winter Camp programs for ages 6 to 14: Preteen Palooza, School’s Out, Operation Snowflake, and EXTREME Winter Break.
Preteen Palooza is run by the Child Sitting team at the Paul Derda Recreation Center. Preteen Palooza offers supervised care for ages kindergarten to 12 years old.
While parents workout, kiddos will enjoy playing in the gym, game room, gymnastics, and pool.
School’s Out, held Dec. 21, will venture to the Centennial Family Fun Center where children will play arcade games, bumper cars, laser tag, and more. After a day filled with action-packed games and high scores, they’ll return with new friendships and exciting stories.
Operation Snowflake, held Dec. 27 through Jan. 4, will include trips to Progresh in Thornton, Loveland Laser Tag, Brunswick Zone, and Dave & Buster’s.
Additionally, they’ll learn about marine life at the Downtown Aquarium, bounce away at Big Time Trampoline, embrace history at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, reach a high score at Gameworks, and more. Each day is jam-packed with excitement and education. It’s for ages 7 to 14.
For the big kids, ages 12 to 14, Broomfield Recreation is offering EXTREME Winter Break on Dec. 28 and Jan. 4. Adventures include finding the key at ThemeScape Escape Room, feeling the need for speed at UNSER, and learning to snorkel at A-1 Scuba Aquatics Center. Get EXTREME this Winter Break with these Camp Explorer programs.
